Inspired by the traditional dyed cotton fabrics of Mali, the Aranda Amanda Cotton Throw celebrates a rich cultural legacy. Historically, the fabric is handwoven by men and then passed to women, who dye it using fermented mud, a process that can take up to a year. Once dyed and sun-dried, symbolic patterns are hand-painted, each design holding deep meaning, often tied to mythology, historical events, or ancestral proverbs.

Originally worn by hunters, these patterns embody centuries of heritage. The ancient rock art of the Sahara suggests Mali has been inhabited since 10,000 BC, reflecting a vibrant history of creativity, craftsmanship, and storytelling.
